Requirements for grading of higher ranks and your obligation to have the privilege to grade:
Brown belts for obtaining black tip
- 6 months minimum consistent training from time of brown belt grading
- 2 x a week training minimum
- 50% attendance at black belt sessions
Black tip to obtain black belt
- 9 months minimum consistent training from time of black tip grading
- 2 x a week training minimum
- 80% attendance at black belt sessions
Black belts to obtain higher Dan gradings
- 1st-2nd = 2 years, 2nd-3rd = 3 years, 3rd-4th = 4 years, 4th-5th = 5 years, 5th-6th = 6 years, 6th-7th = 7 years
- 2 x a week training minimum
- 80% attendance of black belt session
- Be training 2 x a week for 1 year prior to consideration for a Dan examination
- Give back to the club by attending special events, 80% of grading, TKD camp(s), 80% of black belt sessions
- Help out and assist with instructing when needed and possibly take a class on your own
- Show leadership, respect and control with members
If you are unfortunate enough to be injured prior to your grading and thus can’t train to meet the needs of the minimum requirement then your attendance at session including black belt sessions to help out would be considered and/or an 18 month minimum.
Please note: Certificates will NOT be given if the member hasn’t continued with their training for at least a year after obtaining their grade. Certificates and thus social ranking will be withheld until the Chief Instructors agrees that sufficient training has been meet.
