Tae Kwon Do Camp – November 2018 – Report
On Saturday the 17th of November my dad and I reached Crosslands Youth & Convention Centre at Galston Gorge. We arrived at 8am which was just in time for breakfast.
After breakfast we got changed and participated in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu defence class with Professor Alex Scott. I really enjoyed the class and learnt a lot of new defence combinations.
After lunch I was involved in a Dan Assessment. It was quite difficult and I learnt that I need to practice more.
Later that afternoon dad and I went on a canoe along the creek and for a small, but scenic bush walk.
After a nice dinner under the large gazebo, a few of us went back to the conference hall to do our patterns to improve. I also had a grappling session with 1st Dan Lachlan and was lucky enough to beat him.
At the end of the night everyone watched a movie called “Unleashed”. After this we all went back to the lodge and went to sleep in our bunks.
On Sunday morning at 6am, dad and I joined Master Ron and a few other people for some meditation then we did some yoga before having our breakfast. This was a fantastic way to start the day.
After breakfast we practiced our Bo skills with Master Ron and Sar Bom Nim Andrew.
For morning tea we had some yummy croissants then we carried out some pad drills and I learnt a few more boxing combos.
Before lunch nearly everyone went for a swim in the pool. Then they inflated a giant blow-up obstacle course and we all had races on it. It was awesome.
After lunch we had the awards presentation. Harley and I received a trophy each for Best Effort during the camp. We were both stoked.
It was then time to say our goodbyes to everyone and drive home.
